A very good copy of John Joseph Merlin; the Ingenious Mechanick, the catalogue of an exhibition of his work held at the Greater London Council in 1985. Merlin was an 18th century mechanic, skilled in the making of musical instruments, clocks etc, & a friend of Gainsborough; the catalogue includes essays on his work by Anne French, Michael Wright and Frances Palmer. 12 colour plates & numerous b/w illustrations. Published by the Greater London Council in 1985; 146pp, 210 x 245mm, 565gms. The top of the title-page has been cut; otherwise in excellent condition throughout. Postage very expensive, but note free delivery in Melbourne area.  Up to 3kg of books posted anywhere in Australia for $9.60.
