ARTIST BACKGROUND

Julie is a Nyaranyin woman from Imintji Community in the Kimberley. Imintji is part way up the Gibb River Road and is located to Gorges covered with Wandjina rock art. She paints the Wandjina, a creator spirit from her country. Her paintings come from stories that have been handed down to her from her grandparents.
