Tireless social climber Hyacinth Bucket puts her best foot forward in this hilarious BBC comedy of manners. Hyacinth busies herself performing selfless acts of charity for the lower classes (including her family), doling out invaluable advice to her husband Richard, and acting the adoring eldest daughter to her incapacitated Daddy. Somehow she also manages to find time to keep her neighbours on edge by hosting insufferable morning teas and candlelit suppers.Hyacinth goes to incredible lengths in her quest for perfection and admittance into the upper-echelon of society. Climbing the social ladder isn't always easy - but it's always a giggle in Roy Clarke's Keeping Up Appearances superbly led by its award winning star Patricia Routledge and co-starring Clive Swift, Josephine Tewson, David Griffin, Geoffrey Hughes and Judy Cornwell.

When it comes to snobbery Hyacinth Bucket is in a class of her own. Starring the multi-award winning Patricia Routledge as the 'lady of the house', discover a whole new Christmas spirit with four hysterical specials from the famed BBC series.
Amongst her many escapades, Hyacinth roars into the Christmas season managing to get poor Richard into a Father Christmas outfit, buys tickets for a holiday cruise on the QE2, looking forward to making acquaintances with the better class of person that one meets in such circumstances, and directs a local pageant titled 'Our Town in the Civil War', naturally casting herself in the starring role. Brilliant comedy.

Christmas Special 1991: Hyacinth manages to get poor Richard into a Father Christmas outfit but then has to confront with a very drunken "Daddy" who is making passes at the parish ladies in the church rectory. To make matters worse, there is a case of mistaken identity that culminates with her kissing under the mistletoe with a most unexpected partner.

Christmas Special 1993: Hyacinth buys tickets for a holiday cruise, looking forward to hobnobbing with "the better class of person that one meets in such circumstances".

Christmas Special 1994: Hyacinth has been very busy planning a new kitchen (a process which includes asking the Vicar whether a worktop color described as "Angel Gabriel Blue" is accurate). She becomes busier still when Daisy tells her that someone has been found in "Daddy's" bed - and it isn't "Daddy"!

Christmas Special 1995: Hyacinth is directing the local historical pageant, Our Town In The Civil War. Richard is playing King Charles and she is to appear as his Queen.

Previously viewed, all discs are in good condition with only some light scratches.
