The image depicts Kenny aboard the Yamaha Factory 500cc two stroke machine which bears the now famous Yamaha 'Speed Stripe' and the number one plate. This stripe and colours were to be seen again some 25 years later at the Laguna Seca Round of the 2005 Championship when Both Valentino Rossi and team mate Colin Edwards donned the replica colours to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Yamaha.
