Keris kris java indonesia dagger sword knife

Offered here is a keris from Surakarta, in Central Java, Indonesia.

The blade has 11 waves and the pamor motif is blarak ngirid.

The old wrongko or scabbard is the gayaman form and it is from finely marked timoho wood.  A pendok (metal sleeve on lower part of wrongko) made of copper and deeply and finely embossed with a motif of foliage is fitted.

The old ukiran or hilt  is the Surakarta yudowinatan form and it has a gilt hilt ring or mendak with the lung wideng motif.

Overall condition of this keris is very good.

Blade length is 13.75" (350mm.), overall length is 20.5" (520mm.)
