270-page softcover book from 1959, originally published in 1937. "In this scientific evaluation, Dr. Behanan clearly explains and evaluates such fundamental concepts of Hindu thought as 'prakriti', 'purusha', 'sattva', and many others, and presents a valuable historical synopsis of the development of Hindu religious philosophy and of the relationship of yoga to the greater body of Hindu thought. Throughout he shows how these ideas are related to familiar Western philosophic conceptions. His descriptions of the methods by which yogim achieve minute musculature control over their bodily functions are especially detailed; and his careful evaluation of the psychological results of these neuromuscular exercises is lucid and well-balanced." Book includes 17 black and white photographs.

Condition of book is not too bad for its age, the outside cover looks a bit worn.
