AT LAST - STAINLESS BOLTS WITH HEADS THAT ACTUALLY FIT THE HINGES


This auction is for a kit containing a set of sixteen (16) METRIC socket-countersunk head STAINLESS bolts with STAINLESS NYLOC nuts and STAINLESS washers to attach the (front row) drivers and passengers doors to your 90 or 110 model Series 3 Land Rover. THESE COUNTERSUNK BOLTS HAVE BEEN MADE TO OUR OWN SPECIAL ORDER SUCH THAT THEY HAVE THE CORECT DIAMETER HEAD TO FIT INTO THE COUNTERBORES OF THE DOOR HINGES. In the left-hand picture below you can see a standard socket-countersunk bolt (as supplied by other vendors) - the head is to wide to fit into the Counterbore.! You have to grind the heads on these off-the-shelf bolts to make them fit into the bores - very laborious and time consuming.! In the right-hand picture below you can see the whole hinge assembly - with the original POZI bolts to the left and the new socket headed SPECIAL bolts to the right ; neatly nestled inside the counterbores where they should be.!

OUR SPECIAL BOLTS are M8 METRIC - 40mm and 55mm long as per Land Rover Spec. These bolts can be RETRO-FITTED to EARLIER Land Rover Models replacing UNF threaded parts - additionnal caged-nuts (sometimes called spire-nuts by way of brand name) may be required. OUR SPECIAL BOLTS ARE BRITISH MADE - helping to support BRITISH Industry. Each bolt is supplied with a Nyloc nut - not all may be necessay as some fixings run into Captive Cage (Spire) Nuts.
