A reserve price is the minimum price the seller will accept. This price is hidden from bidders. To win, a bidder must have the highest bid and have met or exceeded the reserve price.
I
apologise if there are reflections of light spots or flashes on these
items. I do my best but I am not a professional photographer.
The
items I sell are vintage; they are second hand, old, sometimes very
old. I try to describe and photograph my items honestly and to the best
of my ability; however if pristine condition is very important to you,
I feel you should be buying from a regular shop, where you can inspect
the items personally. Please note that all my items are sold
"as is", with no warranty implied, and that the photos form part of the
description, which should be read carefully.
If you are in Australia you may still pay using bank deposit, cheque or money order for this listing, thankyou!
My bank account details will be in the End of Auction email, as well as
in the Payment Instructions on your invoice, should they for some
reason not appear on this listing. International
buyers, please do not ask for your parcel to be declared as a gift, or
for it to be undervalued. Parcels with a value of over $50 must be
accurately described to qualify for the protection afforded by Insured
Post or Registered Post International. Please factor any customs duty
you may have to pay into your bidding. A false Customs Declaration is
an offence under International Law.
It is November already, so Christmas can’t be far
away. Vintage jewellery makes an ideal gift because:
1.It
looks impressive
2.It is
of far better quality than modern jewellery, and usually far cheaper than the
modern equivalent
3.No one
has any idea how much you have spent!
So you can look like a benevolent millionaire for a
very modest outlay. I have many items listed this week that would make ideal
Christmas gifts.
LARGE VINTAGE REAL SHELL CAMEO BROOCH GOLD PLATE
FRAME
From a UK estate. A very pretty and large real shell
cameo with a most attractive carving of a young lady’s profile. From the style
of the carving I would date this to the 1940’s or 1950’s. It is in an elaborate
engraved frame, which is marked on the back for 2.5 mm gold plating. Has a good
strong safety catch and a pendant hook. Measures an impressive 6 cms x 4.5 cms.
Very good condition; no damage to the shell, and the metal work is bright and
shiny. So not antique, and not a solid gold frame, but a genuine vintage real
shell cameo brooch that would make an excellent gift. Will post for 250g;
P&P $6.35 Australia wide. International postage in AU$11 - $13 range.
Parcel registration or insurance to full value will be necessary.
PLEASE READ MY POSTAL AND PAYMENT INFORMATION BEFORE YOU BID. IF IN ANY DOUBT PLEASE ASK.
POSTAGE INFORMATIONWill post for 250g; P&P $6.35 Australia wide.
International postage in AU$11 - $13 range. Parcel registration or insurance to full value will
be necessary. Naturally you can combine items to save on postage and insurance.Don’t
forget that if you live in the Sydney metro area, you can have a parcel
of any weight (up to 20 Kg) delivered for a total P&P cost of only
$9.45, no matter what the P&P cost quoted on the individual item
(or items) may be. I will always endeavour to post the cheapest way for you here in Australia but OVERSEAS POSTINGS MUST BE AIRMAIL.The P&P cost I quote is actual Australia
Post charges + $2 per parcel charge to help cover packaging costs. If
you pay extra to register or insure your parcel, this cost does NOT
appear on your Australia Post postage label; it is an extra cost that I pay at the PO. Your Registration or Insurance label is the proof that I have paid for this service.
PLEASE
NOTE. I DO NOT ALLOW PICKUP OF ITEMS. I AM NOT A SHOP. PLEASE DON’T ASK
TO PICK ITEMS UP; I DON'T WANT TO OFFEND YOU BUT I WILL REFUSE. PLEASE
FACTOR POSTING AND INSURANCE COSTS, WHICH ARE ALWAYS GIVEN ON THE
LISTING, INTO YOUR BID.
INSURANCE INFORMATIONInsurance
is required on all items valued at over $50, or on all parcels where
total value of items exceeds $50. In Australia this costs $2.80 for the
first $100, and $1.30 for each $100 after that. International insurance
costs $8.75 and $2.30 for each additonal $100. If your parcel requires
insurance, I will add it automatically to the invoice. If you require
insurance on a parcel valued at less than $50, you can add the
appropriate amount to the invoice as indicated.
There are some countries - eg Canada, Germany, Israel, Norway - where
no parcel insurance can be provided by Australia Post; I can check for
you if you want.
For
these countries where no parcel insurance is available, parcels with a
value of $50 and over will be sent by Registered Post International.
This provides tracking for PayPal security. It costs $17.70 to Asia /
Pacific, $20 to Canada / Middle East and $23.40 to Europe for a
pre-paid padded bag weighing less than 500g. Higher charges apply for
heavier weights or boxed parcels. Ask for a quote .
PAYMENT INFORMATIONPlease wait for an invoice from me; I
endeavour to contact all successful buyers within 24 hours, but
sometimes real life gets in the way of eBay. If you have not received
an email or eBay invoice from me within 48 hours, please email me – in
these days of over-active spam filters emails can easily be overlooked
or diverted. I would normally expect payment with 5 days; if for some reason this is not possible, please contact me to explain. Please
be aware that if you pay using PayPal, and do not have a PayPal balance
that will cover the transaction, or a credit card linked to your PayPal
account, PayPal will fund the payment through what it calls an
eCheque. These can take up to 10 days to clear. Please do not think I
am holding up your purchase; I can only post when PayPal tells me the
eCheque has cleared. It is very important to ensure that the
address that appears on your PayPal checkout invoice is the address
that you want your parcel delivered to. Under PayPal rules I must
deliver to this address, so please check that it is correct before you
confirm your payment. You can easily change your delivery address in
PayPal under My Account - Profile - Postal Address; don't forget to
make your correct address your Home address. If your eBay address is different to your PayPal address, it is a REALLY good idea to change it to correspond; it is your PAYPAL address that is the important one.
FEEDBACK INFORMATIONIt
has always been my policy to leave Positive Feedback when an item has
been paid for and I have posted the parcel. I will always email you to
let you know when that occurs, so you may know when to expect the
parcel. Leaving Feedback is not compulsory; if you want to leave me Positive Feedback, then that is very nice and I appreciate it.
If you have some problem with our transaction, and you feel like
leaving me Neutral or Negative Feedback, please contact me BEFORE
leaving Feedback so that we can work something out that will leave us
both feeling happier. I
always try to describe my items fully and honestly, and work hard to
try and ensure that my buyers are satisfied. However I am only human; SHOULD a problem arise please contact me FIRST.The Ratings stars.
Oh dear. Please be aware that eBay considers anything less than 5 (ie a
perfect rating) to be substandard, and sellers can be penalised (ie
barred from selling) once their rating falls below 4.8. You do not HAVE
to click these rating stars. If you do, please be realistic about
things over which I as the seller had no control – like what Australia
Post delivery and insurance charges are, how long the Postal Service
took to deliver your parcel (remember WA is a long way from NSW and
that estimated times of arrival for overseas airmail parcels are
frequently understated), whether if it was Registered or Insured Post
they actually left you a card to say you needed to go to the PO to pick
it up, or if you paid by eCheque, the time it took that cheque to
clear. Sorry about the length of this message; I assume that you may
want to remain an eBay buyer, and hope that if you buy from me your
experience will be a happy one. It is just that with the way things are
changing, there may no longer be small sellers of vintage items (like
me) on eBay to buy from.
Q: what is the cost to ship to canada? A: G'day Airmail postage to Canada would be AU$20 - this includes the charges for Registered Post International, which has insurance up to $100 and a tracking number for eBay protection. Thanks for your interest.
Return policy not specified. Read item description for any reference to return policy.
Refunds by law: In Australia, consumers have a legal right to obtain a refund from a business for goods purchased (but not at auction) if the goods are faulty, not fit for purpose or don't match description. More information at returns.
