LGB #4010 circa-mid 1970's as new condition, G scale

You  are  bidding  on  one  (1)  off  as  new,  excellent  condition,   LGB  #4010  low-sided  gondola,   unpainted  medium  brown  body.   This  car  was  made  in  Western  Germany  (circa- mid 1970's)  and  is  supplied  with  a  red  packaging.    The  car  has  trussrods,  but  no  body  slots.    These  cars  are  rarely  made  available,  in  this  condition  and  this  listing  provides  for  a  car  in  as  new,   excellent  condition,  with  very  light  wheel  tread  marking.     The  exposed  steel  axles  are  unmarked.   This  would  be  an  ideal  accompianment  to  an  existing  starter  set.   Ideal  collector  car.  I  do  not  know  if  the  box  is  original,  as  by  the  time  the  red  box  was  released  (1977-78),   the  production  car  had  been  retooled  to  include  body  slots  in  the  endwalls.  This  car  presents  as  from  an  earlier  time  frame  than  the  introduction  of  the  red  box  period.    That  being  said,  it  was  not  uncommon  for  LGB  to  intermix  production  run  items  from  an  earlier  production  run  that  were  not  sold  when  the  change  in  packaging  occurred.

Note  that  a  $2.50  packing  surcharge  will apply  to  this  listing  due  having  to  purchase  a  suitably  approved  post  office  package.  I  apologise  for  having  to  charge  as  I  have  simply  run  out  of  recycled  packages.   Note  that  multiple  purchases  will  negate  the  surcharge  as  I  will  be  able  to  combine  shipping  costs.
