Kurrajong Bush Medicine Leaves

 

STORY: The women collect the Kurrajong Bush Medicine leaves from around the central desert area. The leaves are then boiled in a large tin bucket.  The Kurrajong leaves are good for treating the flu, headache, backache, upset stomach and chest pains – where the leaves are repeatedly firmly pressed against the persons back or chest .  For cuts and bruises the leaves are boiled longer until the oils float then, it is mixed with an animal fat, then applied to the wounds.

Louise is one of six sisters and three brothers.  She attended Primary School at Stirling Station and later went to Yiriara College in Alice Springs.

When she returned to Stirling Station she worked with the Community Development Program.  She started painting in 1981 after being taught by
her Aunties Gloria and Kathleen Petyerre, well known Aboriginal artists.

Louise moved to Darwin in 1995 where she met Lauretta of Readback Aboriginal Art Gallery in the city mall.  Lauretta has nurtured her work through to the prolific and loved artists that she is today. 

She's studied at Nungalinya College and has a Diploma of Fine Arts from the Northern Territory University.  Readback is the primary home of the Numina sisters. 
Louise’s work has been exhibited in Darwin and Sydney. Her artwork is purchased from art lovers, collectors and institutions worldwide.

PAYMENTS ARE LIKELY NOT TO BE PROCESSED WITHOUT THIS VITAL VERIFYING INFORMATION.

Leave off the first four (4) numbers if you do not have enough space.

b. IF you cannot access the online banking information via the eBay options, then you will need to send a (bank or post order) cheque in the mail.

POSTAGE:

WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR ITEMS NOT DELIVERED OR MISSING BY AUSTRALIA POST.

Please ensure your delivery address is secure and or attended.

Insurance and or registered mail can be arranged post sale.  This MAY incur extra costs over and above the flat rate we’ve nominated.  Else the postage cost flat rate per the postage details nominated in the postage area of the eBay document herein.

Postage costs include (hired) handling, packaging, delivery to post office, postage, eBay percentage and gst.

Postage can be combined to two items per tube. The extra item will cost a further $10 bringing your total to $40 for two paintings posted together.  Some items are not eligible for this option if they are large pieces.

Australia Post does not deliver overnight from Darwin NT. Express Post takes 1-4 working days for Australian destinations.

INTERNATIONAL Air can take up to three weeks – although USUALLY within 10 days.

Registered or insured can be arranged post sale. Same flat rate(s) as above.

Please note some countries of destination do not allow for insurance or registered.

FEEDBACK:

The closure of the sale falls on you, the buyer/receiver as the last point.  Your feedback (in the intended spirit and full participation of eBay Community) is important to us. 

We will then reciprocate feedback once you have completed same on receipt and acceptance of the painting viz transaction completed and closed.

We will leave feedback for all items unless we choose best not to leave feedback at all. Sometimes it's best to say nothing than a negative.

COMMUNICATIONS/OFFICE HOURS:

We are largely at the desk on: Monday to Wednesday - during school/child care hours (local time).  Plus Friday until noon - (local time).
During this time you could still expect a 24 hour turnaround on email queries.  Hopefully however it should be within minutes or hours - while we are tending to all the work of bringing these GORGEOUS original contemporary artworks to you.

CORRECTIONS AND OTHER IMPORTANT NOTICES:

BEFORE you place your final bid – or any bid, please check the VERY BOTTOM of this page for any changes, corrections or ‘revisions’. 

Usually this will pertain to a size correction that some good eBay sole has alerted us to.  On rare occasions it might refer to postal costs due to large size of the painting.

We will not and cannot make such changes in the final 12 hours of sale.
