This adorable doll as an appealing expression on her pretty face and is dressed in a gorgeous sailor outfit. She is made from nice quality bisque with single stroke eyebrows, finely painted upper and lower eyelashes, blue glass sleep eyes with large pupils, nose dots, a little dimple in her chin, pretty blushing cheeks, and an open mouth with 4 teeth. All her eyelid wax is intact. The only marks on the back of her head are for size, 2/0, but I think she was made by Armand Marseille, the reknowned German firm. She has a replaced blonde wig in a bob. There is no damage to her bisque head and she would date to somewhere between 1910-1920. Her body is original to her and is of the 'stick leg' variety. She has a large, rotound torso, a plump back side and a plump stomach, all giving her a childlike appearance. The torso is unpainted and is impressed on the back with the number 8. The upper legs are wood and attach to the body at an angle at the front. The upper arms are also wood and the lower arms and legs are molded composition. I notice that one of her legs seems a little longer than the other, but she was made like that and I only mention it his to be thorough. She is jointed at the hips and knees but is far better standing. She measures approximately 16" in height (40.8cm) so is a great sized doll to display. Her sailor outfit is 2 piece and a tiny bit long in the arms but could easily be taken up. She also has underclothing, black stockings and black shoes. All her clothing is in new condition. She will also come with a beret and a blue tie around her hair as photographed. I will remove her wig and pate to stuff the head for posting to protect the eyes in transit. This is a gorgeous doll with a sweet little face that will delight any collector. Please email me if you have any further questions. Buyer is responsible for postage and packaging. This doll will be sent registered and insured to the winner within Australia. PLEASE WAIT FOR YOUR INVOICE PRIOR TO PAYING AS I FIND EBAY'S POSTAGE CALCULATOR IS FLAWED AND DOES NOT ALLOW FOR INSURANCE AND REGISTRATION WHICH MUST BE PAID AS I WILL NOT POST MY DOLLS WITHOUT THIS TO PROTECT BOTH THE BUYER AND MYSELF. ALSO IT SOMETIMES WORKS OUT CHEAPER THAN WHAT EBAY CALCULATES. In the interest of my regular buyers I list my dolls as private auctions and your details will not be revealed to anybody other than myself. I do accept lay-bys on my antique dolls but please email me at least 2 days prior to the auction ending to agree on my terms.
ALL BIDDERS PLEASE NOTE: Unless a request is received for more time, if payment is not received within 7 days of auction close, items may be relisted, and a dispute opened via eBay. No exceptions, No excuses. This condition is as a result of some previous time-wasters who spoil it for everyone. Powered by eBay Turbo Lister |
