This is an unusual edition of the Talmud printed in 1861 Lemberg / Lvov by the S Back & AJ Menkes printing firm. This edition of the Talmud, on tractate Sabbath, was different than the prevalent Vilna edition in that this volumes contains 2 pages for every ONE in the Vilna edition. It boasted (see cover page) that it contained all the commentaries found in the Vilna and Slavita editions.Contains also commentary of maimonides on the Mishna. In addition, these small volumes (6x9 inches) were also portable and made for travelers as well.

CONDITION: Original leather bound cover, a bit torn on spine top and bottom (minor). Inside, pages are clean.

I do have other volumes of this set, practically a complete shas, so contact me for the list if you are missing any. A full set can go for much less than the price of individual volumes.
