Item specifics
Condition: UsedBrand: Laney
Product Type: Tube stack

Hi Everyone,

Up for sale today is my Laney VH100R 100W all tube half-stack. The asking price is more than reasonable as this head retails at $2,599 on bmusic, and the cab for $899. That's almost $3,500 for the half-stack! I'm not even asking for half of that! I just need a new amp and I'd like it in time to hit the studio in the next few weeks.

I bought this about a month ago with intentions for using it with my band, but it is not quite the sound I am after. It is a very bright sounding amp, with amazing cleans and awesome overdrive sounds, but I play in a death metal band and I find it is a little too bright sounding for my tastes. I need a darker sounding distortion.

Don't get me wrong, this amp is beautiful. It has some of the best cleans I have ever heard and it's rock tones remind me of an old marshall styled sound. It will do progressive metal incredibly well - Think of opeth styled tones (as they use this amp for recording) With a tubescreamer it can pull of a really good death metal tone, but as stated, is quite bright sounding. It is so versatile it's honestly not funny... Fender style cleans, marshall overdrive and has been likened to an engl-styled distortion. If I played all sorts of music, It would suit me down to a T, but since I'm in a Death metal band I'm only concerned with distortion.

I used to own a Peavey 6505 and since then I have never been able to find an amp with a tone I liked as much as the Peavey's, therefore the only reason I am selling this is to get another one. I have played mesa's, engl's, marshalls and to be 100% honest, if I had never heard a 6505 I would be keeping this as my stage rig, but I'm sure you all know that when you find the tone you like, nothing can replace that...

I literally had this retubed 2 weeks ago, and have used it no more than 5 times since then. I spent $240 on it, having it serviced, checked over, and a full set of tubes and a Bias - 4xJJ power tubes and 5 JJ pre-amps and 1 Tung-sol pre-amp. It sounds incredible and waaaaaaaay better than before the retube. It is using 12ax7's and 6l6's. All work was done by Jim Willis at blue glow amps, and he can verify the work I have had done.

The head is 100W all tube, and boy is this thing loud. It can still get great tones at bedroom level, but really shines when you push the volume a little.

The cab is a GS412P and is a 240W stereo/mono cab that can be run at 4, 8 or 16ohms, so its compatible with almost any head. The speakers I belive are HH premiers, but to be honest, I have not taken the back off to check. I searched the internet and it seems most likely that these are the speakers. The amp also comes with a footswitch.

So what do you get if you buy this amp?

100W VH100R head and power supply

240W GS412P 4x12 Stereo Cabinet

Laney Footswitch - (Please note; footswitch is still with the old owner. When I bought it, he forgot to give it to me. I have contacted him and he is posting it.  I have emiled him again tonight.)

I will throw in a speaker cable used to connect the head to the cab

Absolutely everything you need to start playing, minus a guitar cable. I apologise but I only have one, and it's on the way out :P

Just to note, the amp has seen its fair share of transport from the owner who had the amp before me (I believe the amp is a few years old, but I'm not sure exactly). If you'd like some more pictures please contact me through ebay. I will do my best to explain them.

Cloth covering on both the Cabinet and partially covering the head is in great condition - No rips, no tears.

The laney badges of both head and cab are slighlty marked, moreso on the cab.

Some screws and corner plates on head have some rust as well as a small amount on the faceplate of the head. Overall Tolex on head is in very good condition - Few marks here and there and a few small nicks.

(When the amp was serviced, the internals were pulled out to rebias/service etc, and some of the tolex has caught next to the faceplate on the outside of the amp. The internals need to be removed which is quite easy, and the tolex just needs glueing or stapling down.)

Cab is in reasonable condition - Front is in good condition, but the back and are sides are a little worse. There are a few small strips of tolex off, but have been covered with tape. Cab has no wheels/castors. Photo is a pretty good indication of how the amp is. Cab has tape on the back, which I have not pulled off.

I will endeavour to be as truthful and as factual as possible, as I don't want to mislead any potential buyers or cheat anyone. IF YOU REQUIRE ANY PICTURES/CLARIFICATION; ANYTHING PLEASE CONTACT ME. I won't bite. I'd rather we clear things up early. Once you bid, I'm afraid that's pretty much set in stone as an offer to purchase. I am flexible and easy to work with - If you would like to pay off the amp in payments + a deposit, I'm able to do that. I understand many people just don't have this sort of money lying around. But please note if you wish you pay the amp off, it will not be released to the buyer until all monies have been paid in full.  There will be atime limit in which the amp must be paid for - Please contact me)

There is no warranty covering the tubes in the amp. If there are concerns I will present them to the amp tech who fixed it to see what can be done. What you see is what you get. I am not trying to rip anyone off, so please don't waste my time or beat around the bush. There will be no refunds. If there are any problems, please contact me and we will attempt to resolve them together BEFORE leaving feedback. View my 100% positive rating and bid with confidence. I am an honest and fair ebayer.

I would prefer not to ship, but if you are 100% keen; you must organise the courier, and all monies for the amp + the courier must be paid in full before the item will be released. I will not separate so please don't ask :)

PAYMENT POLICY - I will accept Cash on Pickup, Money Orders, Paypal or payment into my bank account, NO BANK OR PERSONAL CHEQUES. Please make sure you are able to pay in one of the designated manners.

Thank you for checking out this listing!  Amp is listed elsewhere, so if it is sold, this listing will be removed.
