Large ANCIENT JASPER bead 40mm

Large ANCIENT JASPER stone bead with irregular shape -  sourced from Afghanistan/ Pakistan region.

This bead is in excellent condition & has great colour  - a rich mix of caramel and green with some reddish touches.
The surface has a very smooth worn patina with minor surface pitting.
Origin is unclear but we think it is Roman Period production 1800 - 2100 years in age, possiblly older.
