Danish silver Lily serving spoon 1941

This pretty piece is marked to the back with the Danish silver three tower assay mark and has a date letter of 41 for 1941. The assay master's mark is that for Jens Sigsgaard. The maker's mark is for Carl M Cohr. Please see below for information on this well known Danish silversmith.

Cohr Silver

The spoon has a large stainless steel serving bowl and has an ornate silver handle with a lily pattern to the finial. The pattern is double sided and appears the back.

The spoon has severe dents to a side edge as if it has been used to bang against a table or surface. This is shown in the photos. The front surface has fine scratches from use as has the stainless steel bowl. The piece still presents quite well.

Apart from the dents mentioned there is no damage to the rest of the piece.

The spoon is 115mm long with the stainless steel section measuring 60mm across.

For North American users a handy guide is 25mm or 2.5cm is a little less than 1 inch, so 100mm or 10cm is just less than 4 inches.
