MY GRADING SCALE
(ADAPTED FROM AN ADAPTATION OF THE GOLDMINE SYSTEM - ORIGINAL RATINGS IN RED):
Mint - SS= Still Sealed
Very Good - NM = Near Mint - or unplayed condition. Cover is nice and new looking with no ring wear.
Very Good (with added comment) - NM- = Only slight signs of wear; very clean, only light surface marks which will not distract significantly from the sound. Cover also has only slight wear, and is still in nice collectible condition.
Good - VG+ = Played often with moderate surface wear and some moderate noise - still plays well. Cover may have medium overall wear or some ring wear.
Good (with added comment) - VG = Overall wear, but no serious defects, more noisy sound during quiet passages. Cover is well worn, usually with considerable ring wear.
Average - VG- = Heavy wear on record and cover.
Poor - G or G+ = Poor or Rough condition.
My records are graded on a visual basis (I don't own a working record player at the moment) and while some are from my personal collection that I am phasing out as I go digital for which I may have a recollection as to how they sounded, many are extras I have picked up along the way and most unplayed so please don't ask me how it sounds. I will always try to grade on the downside, for example a borderline good to very good I'll grade as good - I'd rather you got a pleasant surprise than a nasty shock but please bear in mind that even though I'm reasonably picky there are bound to be differences of opinion at times.
The Fine Print
Payment
Payment to be within 7 days of auction end and I accept all approved methods of payment. If you are having trouble with the time frame or wish to wait and combine your win with other auctions not yet closed please let me know. Any unpaid items without a prior arrangement will have an Unpaid Item Dispute initiated after 10 days which will then be closed after 30 days if a mutual agreement has not resolved the transaction. Please communicate any problems as most situations can be worked through.
Postage And Handling
All items are carefully packed with suitable strength protective cardboard and / or recycled box's. I use Australia Post's Domestic Parcel Service for local dispatches and Air Mail for International and my regular mailing days are Tuesday and Friday. There is a small handling fee ($1.50 for local - $2.50 for international) on top of the Australia Post fee which covers the cost of packaging materials and the fact that Australia Post don't give me a discount if you pay by Paypal. If you have any special packaging or dispatch requirements please let me know before I process the invoice as they may incur extra charges. I don't insist on Registered Post but will always offer it as optional on the invoice for while I sympathise with "lost" items I can't take responsibility (nor can Australia Post apparently) without the added clout of the registered sticker but ultimately the final choice is yours, best based on past experiences and the value of the transaction.
Combined Postage Discount
One record - under 500g rate
Two records - 500g to 1kg rate
Third record - same as two
Every three records after that go into the next kilo bracket - normally about $1.00 extra per kilo depending on your area.
Returns And Refunds Policy
The only winner as a rule with returns is the postal service so unless it's something exceptional I won't ask for a return before I give a refund. I consider partial or full refunds less any P & H, charges depending on each transactions individual circumstances, for items incorrectly described, with misleading information in the description or the wrong item dispatched. Please bear in mind that a lot of my secondhand items such as records are sold "as is" with a description that is as fair and accurate as possible. I'm reasonably picky about their condition and will always tend to underrate a product rather than exaggerate it's condition to avoid possible disappointment..
Thanks for looking and good luck.
