Leucadendron Jack harre is a medium shrub, about 1.5m (5ft) high and 1.5m (5ft) wide with exquisite flowers of yellow to flame red bracts  They are a fast growing, compact plant.  and flower through Autumn and Winter. 

Leucadendrons have leaves that are simple and leathery, varying greatly in shape and size and sometimes clothed in silvery hairs. The flowers are small and long lasting, in dense globular or conical heads terminating the branches, but the heads are usually surrounded by a flower-like collar of bracts that also vary greatly in size and color from blood reds to golden yellows and multi colours. Many change colour according to the season.  They are highly decorative shrubs, with flowers often sold to florists.

This attractive plant prefers acidic, well-drained soils in full sun position to produce the best flowering colour, however, they are tolerant of most well-drained soil types and conditions. They make an excellent cut flower, screen and windbreak. They are ideal as a high hedge, but should be pruned in late Winter for best effects. Mature plants can withstand varying degrees of frost, and although usually hardy, is not as frost hardy as Safari Sunset, and are relatively drought tolerant.
