Liberty's Kids PC CD american revolution history game!

Children ages 8-12 are invited to explore the historical period of The American Revolution in Liberty's Kids, an educational adventure based on the PBS Kids television series. Taking the role of a newspaper reporter for the Pennsylvania Gazette, players have access to an extensive reference guide detailing important people, places and events surrounding the clash between British Loyalists and American Patriots. Gameplay involves traveling from locale to locale, interviewing characters, and performing small tasks to open up additional information. As examples, one character may have misplaced her sewing shears, another has a broken bayonet, while yet another wants ale.

From the newspaper Print Shop home base, players get assignments, compose stories using information notes and sketches made while interviewing people, visiting specific locales like the Old North Church, or checking out Ben Franklin's inventions, and focusing on the "who, what, where, when, and why" aspects of events. More than 20 printable puzzles, games and quizzes, 30 interactive characters, and dozens of items to find and collect offer kids a chance to learn about the Boston Tea Party, the Battle of Yorktown, Valley Forge, Washington's Crossing of the Delaware, and more.

Focusing on educational skills in listening, observation, separating fact from fiction, and pursuing journalistic accuracy, gameplay complements the comprehensive historical references to Revolutionary War period heroes by letting kids learn about people like George Washington, Paul Revere, and Thomas Jefferson, among others. Other features include mini-movies from the television show, as well as front-page story construction and printing.
