Lightforce Upgrade Cougar 55w 4300k HID kit
So you have a pair of Lightforce lights, but are tempted by the new HID Spotlights that are out now.
And why wouldnt you be! They only draw 55w each light (compared to 100w with the standard halogen globe) and have twice as much power than a halogen.
Well, you no longer need to worry about this decision, as 4H has come to the rescue again!
Just ditch the halogen globe and have your Lightforce lights fitted out with a complete Cougar HID 55w 6000k kit from 4H!!!
The kit comes complete with 2 x 55w ballasts and 2x H3 4300k
light colour temp globes, the adapter base for the globe to fit the H3 globe, which including all the instructions and brackets etc ready to fit to your lights.
Then all you have to do is bolt the lights back onto your vehicle. Mount the ballasts, bolt in the lights, connect the wires and away you go!
This kit is designed to upgrade your Lightforce 140, 170 or 240 Blitz's.
Please note,
these lights do not come with a wiring loom. If you are upgrading your
lights, you can use the existing spotlight loom to connect up to,
otherwise you will need to buy a spotlight wiring loom/harness, which
can be purchase in our ebay store  .
I have just had this HID kit fitted to my Lightforce 170s and the light gain is fantastic!!!
It takes a couple of seconds for the HID globe to warm up, but once it's running up to temperature, the extra light it throws out on the road and its surroundings is fantastic!
Just be aware though, which I found out on my test run. After having them blasting down the road for a bit, and then flicking the lights back to low beam, I thought I had turned ALL the lights off!! The road just went back to darkness again till my eyes took a second to adjust! The light output is THAT good!
Why do I need a HID kit fitted?
Like we need an excuse for new toys to be fitted to our vehicles! But, here goes....
HID is the
future in vehicle lighting. HID stands for High Intensity Discharge.
Basically it is exceptionally high voltage passing through a gas that
emits the light. (Just like a flouro tube). This means the following:
- There
is no fragile filament/element that can break. The only way to blow a
HID globe is to break the glass. To do that requires an impact.
- This means no blown or fragile globes.
- The globe can be immersed in water and still work.
- HID
globes run at low amps (amps are what flattens a battery). Low amps
means longer battery life when the engine is not running.
- HID globes run at 55 watt. A normal Spot Light globe runs at 100 Watts.
- This means less
current (amps) for longer battery life as well as less heat output.
Less heat means less problems when submerging under water with
temperature changes, etc.
- Low Watts and Low Amps means you can run these with a conventional wiring loom as well!
- So there is no need to upgrade your loom as you would with a higher wattage halogen globe.
HID lighting draws less current and produces more useable light than any halogen globe possibly can. The benefits of increased light output and less power draw on your vehicle greatly increase your safety when on the road and longevity of both your vehicle's electrical system and the life of the spot lights themselves. A HID globe has no filament, is not affected by vibrations and runs a lot cooler than a standard halogen globe. It is similar in style to your flourescent lights at home. This means that long range touring over heavy corrugations are not going to destroy the globe any time soon.
This image below shows a Spot Beam Light with the HID kit installed, lit up against a standard Halogen filament globe Spread Beam. This images gives a good indication of the pure white colour that the 6000k HID globe produces and also the penetration power of the HID globe compared to the standard halogen light. The difference in real life is huge and you will wonder why you didn't think about buying these lights earlier.

There is a noticable difference in light output and colour.
The HID ballasts are warranted for one year from the time of purchase. Due to the HID globes being sensitive and affected by the natural oils in your skin we only warrant the globes for 30 days from the time of purchase, as once they leave our warehouse we have no way of knowing what you might do with them. This gives you ample time to test the kit and be confident in the reliability of this setup.

can receive several packages that make up a complete outfit. We are

We use Australia Post's eParcel service. This is a
registered mail service that requires you to sign for your goods and
has an online tracking system so you can see if your items are close to
being delivered or even waiting for you at the post office. The Auspost
tracking website is : www.ausposttracking.com.au. You may ask us for your consignment number if you would like to track the progress of your goods.
If your items are too big for Aussie Post we will use a courier suited
to your area. When suppliers send goods to you they all use couriers as
well. A courier will need a street address (not a PO Box) and you will
need to sign for the goods. We can't accept responsibility for goods
stolen from your front door step and so they are instructed not to
leave items unattended. On rare occasions you might incur a redelivery
fee if the courier has to make repeated attempts to deliver your items
or onsend to an alternate address. We too will send by courier if your
goods can not be delivered by Australia Post. In every case, you can
track the progress of your goods whether they be with couriers or in
the eParcel system.
The items we sell come not only come with a 12 month warranty but
also a 7 day satisfaction guarantee that what you purchased is what you
wanted. Some items we sell are discontinued clearance or liquidation
stock from suppliers shutting shop. Understandably these cant be
replaced once sold out but this will be made apparent in the item
description if this applies.
