Hi, my name is Sid from Opalthunder. I am a miner and most of my opals are from my dad's mine. We are from Lightning Ridge and our motto is to be honest with our customers. That is why i get my opals valued by the best in the world! They are the Lightning Ridge Mining Association (LRMA). They have a panel of 6 professionals to value the one opal, and they tend to under value the opals which is ok because at least you know that you are not getting ripped off by anyone. The valuation is the miners price, so in other words, you are cutting out the wholesaler (middle man) and the retailer (jeweller). You will not get a real opal cheaper than the miners price.

I will give you a copy of the valuation card for every opal i sell, and every opal is cut and polished from one of the best cutters in Lightning Ridge. This is the major difference between me and the rest of the sellers on this website, i give you a guaranteed valuation!

Also opal is valued by per carat. So if you read on the card and it shows VAL. $40 and WT. 2 ct. This means that its valued at $40 a carat and the stone weighs 2 carats, which means the opal stone is worth $80.

Postage to anywhere in Australia is $5, FREE if you spend $100 or more includes combined opals too and FREE insurance and its registered post up to the value of $2,000. To the rest of the world and the USA, i charge $10 up to the combined value of $300 registered post. If you spend more than that its  $1 postage and that includes the total value of all the opals and its registered and fully insured too. I am also talking about the combined value of all the opals that you buy too!
