First invented in France in 1827, a Lithophane is a porcelain engraving that virtually comes alive when illuminated from behind! A panel of different thickness of translucent, kiln-fired porcelain creates the image. A breathtakingly detailed picture in warm sepia tones emerges when lit. These illuminated artworks are so detailed, that they will amaze you for years to come.

 Most of our Night Light designs are available in either of our two "exclusive " lamps: ornate Victorian Stand or the elegant Mantle Stand. Both are offered in antique brass finish, and the Victorian Stand is also available in an enameled white finish.

They are complete with a 6 ft. cord & 25 watt bulb. Approx. size: 9.5 inches for the Victorian style and Approx. 7.5 inches for the Mantle style. See our catalog for pictures. The flat panels in the lamps are interchangeable with any of our flat panel nightlights to allow you the ability to change decor or style for the season or holiday.
