published in 1899, and has since become a family favourite passed down through
successive generations. This is an exact reproduction with the original text and
illustrations. It contains all the ingredients children love - wild animals, a
child hero, an exotic setting, and repitition. In recent years this book has
been neglected, and labelled "politically incorrect". Sadly, this may be the
reason this charming little book is hard to find in Australian bookshops. This
little book deserves to be part of every child's collection. Brand new,
unopened, unread. I have managed to secure a few copies of the American
edition.
