This truly is a sweet little vintage table,wonderful for your hidden treasures it has a key to lock it.I am not sure what year it is though I would say about the 60/70s.. I would imagine made in Italy..the inlay on this piece would have been very labor intensive,the top surface & sides.. has 8 different timber veneer pieces,over printed in 6 different colours,just stunning the music box is working well,has a Swiss movement,plays when open or closed,when in Switzerland last year,I was astounded at the price of musical pieces very expensive..one note is missing though not at all obvious unless your name is Andrea Rieu:) I would say in very good cond.. a couple of nicks/chip see the front of piece, commensurate with age,other than that in lovely cond would make a delightful & unique gift and truly a must have for that French prov or vintage feel to your home.

Ahhh, I love these tables.

This is a Sorrento Musical Sewing Box Table. Or shortened to "Sorrento Table".

The factories are in the heart of Sorrento, down the the Amalfi Coast from Pompeii, Italy. They make the most beautiful furtiture, clocks and musical boxes.
Sorrento is famous for the inlay work of its craftsmen(and delicious lemons).

They use the best woods and the best music boxes for their work, thus the Swiss music boxes used in the tables and musical boxes. Swiss musical boxes are even used in the German Steiff teddy bears!
