Published by Pickering & Inglis Ltd in 1959, first published in 1922
Hard cover edition, with dust jacket in good condition.
There is an inscription inside on a presentation sticker
From the inside flap " Most stories written today concern themselves with things as they are, but it is good that something should also be known of things as they were. In this tale of life of 2 poor London children we are given a glimpse of the difficulties and distresses that were the common lot many years ago, but which today are practically unknown. Little Kit has been lost to her parents while those of Ben are unworthy to be called that name. The story therefore centres around these 2 uncared for little ones and the way in which they confide all their troubles to a compassionate Heavenly Father is a lesson that no one can fail to benefit from."
