Arizona Snowcap; Snowball cactus

DESCRIPTION:

  • This cactus is a hybrid of Mammillaria gracilis. It has thick, dense spines and dark green colouration. Has thicker, more dense white spines than its close relative, M. gracilis. Is very easy to grow and can tolerate extreme conditions.
  • Has pale yellow flowers.
  • Offsets from sides and upper part of plant, which gives a snowball appearance.
  • Grows to approx 6 cm and forms a cluster of offsets at top of plant.
  • Plants on offer are established cacti approx 4 cm high.

CULTURE NOTES

  • Prefers full sun to part shade.
  • Extremely hardy, can tolerate full sun, long periods of dryness and light frost. Can also tolerate Winter conditions but should not remain very wet for more than a few weeks- Prefers a well drained soil.
  • Propagated from offsets.
