The victory of Marcos Ambrose in the 2003 V8 Supercar Championship may have been a dream come true for the native Tasmanian, but it was his outstanding driving ability, backed by the power of his Stone Brothers Racing Pirtek BA Falcon that weaved that dream. In only his third year in a V8 Supercar, Ambrose took all before him, winning an incredible 6 out of the 13 Championship rounds, to regain the title for Ford for the first time since 1997. Nicknamed, the “Devil Racer’, Ambrose claimed the series in his Stone Bros. Racing Falcon BA with 6 brilliant victories, to hand Ford the all-important ‘bragging rights’ over arch-rival Holden. It was a case of ‘Ambrose first, daylight second’ in the final points table, with the Gold Coast-based driver finishing 102 points clear of closest competitor Greg Murphy, and 169 ahead of reigning series champion Mark Skaife. 2003 was a stellar year for Ambrose, who won 5 of the opening 8 rounds, including four straight in rounds 3 through to 6. He joined forces with Stone Brothers Racing teammate Russell ‘The Enforcer’ Ingall to finish a creditable fifth and sixth, respectively, at Sandown and Bathurst. In a sensational display in the final round at Eastern Creek, he sealed the championship with authoritative wins in both races. The second race featured plenty of drama, including a controversial smash between Skaife and Ingall, and a violent thunderstorm, which shortened the race from 64 to 57 laps. When Ambrose finally lifted the trophy, it sealed a dream 12 months for the Tasmanian and for Ford, which celebrated its best ever debut with a Falcon in any Australian Touring Car season. 24 hours later, Ambrose capped off his victory by taking out the inaugural ‘Barry Sheene Medal’ for ‘outstanding leadership, sportsmanship and fan appeal’. The featured images capture Marcos Ambrose in action during the 2003 season, as well as holding the V8 Supercar Championship trophy. Personally signed by Marcos Ambrose, each edition of ‘2003 V8 Supercar Champion’ comes with  round-by-round statistics of his 2003 season, and features the Marcos Ambrose ‘Power Grid’  - a detailed list of the specifications of his Stone Brothers Racing Pirtek BA Falcon.
