Hardcover book with dustjacket.  Book in good/good+ condition, corners and spine slightly bumped. 

Dustjacket fair condition only, worn, chipped and minor creasing.  A little silverfish damage to front foldover and spine, and small pieces missing from top and bottom of spine.  Inside sticky tape repairs have been attempted.  I have newly protected the jacket.

It is a bit of a mess, but somewhat improved with the new plastic protection.

This book tells the story of an Australian woman doctor's travels while on active service with the British Army.

The areas covered include England (during the battle for Britain), Ireland, the Middle East, India, the Dutch East Indies, and Australia.

It tells of a nine weeks' voyage in convoy around the Cape, of life in the Holy Land, and of a cruise, via Bombay, from Suez up the Persian gulf to basrah.  Of the heat and desolation of the vast desert Southern Iraq, of a trip by flying boat from Iraq to Australia and back.

An outstanding feature is the 32 illustrations (b/w photos) 176 pages,
