Here is a very nice ME Sound stereo power amplifier model ME 55, I cannot quote a serial number as the stick on paper label is missing, it was designed and built in Australia by Peter Stein during the mid to late 1980s, it is in excellent physical and working condition with a superb sound when using the right preamp (such as an ME or Naim or NAD or any good quality preamp). This power amplifier puts out 80 watts RMS X 2 into 8 ohms, 125 watts RMS x 2 into 4 ohms, 150 watts RMS x 2 into 2 ohms and 160 watts RMS x 2 into 1 ohm, it can be switched to mono BTL mode in which case it then delivers 250 watts RMS into 8 ohms. It uses "class A' mode up to 2 watts of power which means this amplifier runs quite hot which it was designed to be. ME amplifiers are all designed with huge power transformers and storage capaciotrs and this ME 55 uses a 500 VA transformer with 85,000 MFD capacitance, this results in a very stable and powerful amplifier capable of driving any loudspeaker and gives 30 Amps continuous output current. Input sensitivity is 900 mv with an input impedance of 10Kohms. It measures 435 mm wide by 120 mm high including feet by 360 mm deep including sockets and weighs 10 kilograms. ME Sound and Peter Stein are still operating and there are modifications for any of their amplifiers to improve the sound, if the sound of this ME 55 can be improved then it would sound outstanding!! Postage to Sydney is $13.50, Melbourne $18.75, Brisbane $21.50, Adelaide $22.05, Perth $38.55 and Hobart $33.05, I will quote to other areas and I will register this item for free. Of course, local pickup is welcome or you can also arrange pickup by your own courier. Thanks for looking and have a great day!
