MERIDEN 214 FIGURAL SILVER NAPKIN RING HORSE/CARRIAGE

STUNNING CONDITION ... STUNNING PIECE. I have seen some of these pieces advertised and their condition is far inferior to this one.

Figural silver napkin ring - a prancing horse pulling a cart. Meriden B Company 214. Made in USA.  In perfect condition.  Needs a clean in those hard to get at spots, but otherwise it's pristine.  Wheels work perfectly as well.  Everything is round where it should be round.  9 cms wide x 7 cms from the highest point. 

Experts in this area will be familiar with this type of napkin ring.  I'm not, but I've done some research on the Internet and I think it is very well priced to start the bidding.  As far as I can tell with my untrained eye, this is perfect.  There is no pitting, no broken bits, reins in tact, tail and feet still perfect, wheels turn (teeniest bit squeaky), silver not pitted in any way, shape or form. It belonged to my grandmother, then my mother and now me.  My grandmother would have been born in about 1880.  My mother was born in 1913 and it's been in the family forever!

There is a similar napkin ring for sale through Atlanta Antique Gallery - a rabbit pulling a cart -for $US 525.00!  I have no idea though, whether that one is a rarer article than mine - but it does give you some idea.   FREE REGISTERED POSTAGE AND INSURANCE!
