MICHAEL ROBERTS A CHAMPION`S STORY by MICHAEL ROBERTS & MICHAEL TANNER. MICHAEL ROBERTS a champion jockey and a champion man. Born in South Africa he became a familiar figure on British racetracks since 1986. In becoming champion jockey in 1992 (at odds of 100-1) he became only the second rider since Sir Gordon Richards to ride over 200 winners in a Flat season, he also achieved this feat in a second country, namely his South African homeland. This book tells of his bitter-sweet experiences with the most powerful owner in the land, SHEIKH MOHAMMED, and the reasons for their split which saw him riding freelance in 1994. A great read. This hardback book was published in 1994, it is in a VERY GOOD condition with no stains or creases. There are 214 clean pages, there are no inscriptions. The dust wrapper is in a VERY GOOD condition and has not been price clipped. (Book weighs 500g, post & package cost £2.75) |
