Cheiridopsis peculiaris, known as the Mimicry Plant, is a succulent that is native to South Africa.

Grows as a dwarf, tufted succulent with dimorphic leaf pairs (usually long and short). The leaf pairs take up two positions; one flat and largely free, the second pair fused more than half its length and upright.  These thick succulent leaves are 4.5cm long and are shaped like a pair of cupped hands. The leaves take on a purplish colour in response to sunlight or temperature extremes.

Flowers appear from autumn to spring, they open at midday and close again at dusk. The yellow scented flowers are borne on short or long pedicels, and the petals are borne in several whorls. Four to five sepals are present, nectar glands form a ring around the 10 to 20 feathery stigmas. Flowers are 8cm in diameter.

Prefers full sun and is frost hardy.

For sale is a packet of 20 fresh seeds.

ALL SEED PACKAGES COME WITH A SET OF SEED PROPAGATION INSTRUCTIONS.
