GUARANTEED GOOD CONDITION and very rare PRIOR RENTAL BETAMAX home video presentation dated to 1986 on the "Trans World Entertainment" label of Italian horror director Claudio Fragasso & Alice Cooper's gorily entertaining 1984 Spanish/Italian Euro Horror oddity MONSTER DOG (or Leviatan, sometimes known as THE BITE) with Mr. Cooper playing a rock music star trying to shoot a video at a secluded villa. A group of home intrusion specialists crash the party to steal the booze & molest the women, and to take revenge on their wicked ways Cooper summons up a werewolf curse that ends up working a bit better than he'd intended. Great fun from start to finish with a couple of little Alice Cooper (as Vince Raven) music video segments worked into the plot and a great splatter/gore conclusion. With Victoria Vera, Carlos Santurio, Maria Jose Sarsa, Pepita James, Emilio Lender, Luis Maluenda, and Spaghetti Western heavyweights Charly Bravo, Barta Barri, and Ricardo Palacios. Original music composed by Grupo Dichotomy and featuring production work by the late Carlos Aured.
Pictures are the actual BETAMAX tape and it's gloriously goofy oversized "soft" Disney-type clamshell case, with my name added to the eBay image only to prevent its re-use in making forgeries. Bought this at our local Beta Barn in the early 2000s when they finally decided to convert to DVD after twenty years of Betamax only rentals (I tried to get a job there at one time), but as I've never owned a Betamax player I've never actually watched it ... Prior rental with two store stickers on the spine and base of the tape only, none on the decorated insert sleeve that does have some wear along the top on the back. Box was designed to hold either a VHS or Betamax tape so it could potentially be re-used, though it does say BETA on the spine of the insert sleeve. Not sure that this was the original box either though it is in exactly the same condition as when I acquired it. Has some rippling to the clamshell's outer sleeve but no structural damage. Part of my own collection of oversized clamshell horror pre-records, though since I don't have a Betamax player and do have a nice PAL format VHS that will suffice I'd like to offer this up to another collector. Tape looks perfectly fine and has been stored fully rewound, kept upright on a shelf and looked after with care. Will make sure to pad the tape inside of the case to make sure it arrives in the same condition it departs and this item is sold AS-IS, there's really no way to replace it. Returns will only be honored if the item is egregiously damaged while in the mail. Bidding starts at $22.49. Payment is to be made within 7 days of auction close via PayPal unless other arrangements are needed, please message in advance if so. US buyers pay $3.00 for postage, $4.50 for Canada & Mexico and $9.00 everywhere else. Add for postage $1.50 per additional DVD or video purchased -- PLEASE wait for me to invoice you before rendering payment, and thanks for looking at my item! |
