BEAUTIFUL MULBERRY SILK TOPS

A MOST WONDERFUL NATURAL FIBRE

Legend tells us that a cocoon accidentally dripped into a cup of tea that a Chinese princess was having in her garden. The hot liquid softened and loosened the fibre, which the princess pulled and drew away from the cocoon as a continuous strand.

Silk is the very fine strand of fibre that is a solidified protein secretion produced by certain caterpillars to encase themselves in the form of cocoons.

A most beautiful fiber, a dream to spin either on it own or it blends wonderfully with other fibres like Merino and Alpaca to create a very special yarn Because of the super luster difficult to photograph but the colour is a gleaming white. Made from cultivated silk worms.

As well as spinning it is suitable for Silk Paper Making and other craft applications and is so easy to dye.
