MUNDET CORK CORPORATION, NORTH BERGEN, NEW JERSEY, "EVERYTHING MADE OF CORK" ~ TWO (2) CALENDARS OF CORK. DATED 1957 AND 1961.

1961 CORK CALENDAR IS COMPLETE AND IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. MEASURES 9" WIDE X 12 1/4" TALL WITH CALENDAR PAGES EXTENDING 3" BELOW BOTTOM OF CALENDAR. A VERY SMALL CORNER ON THE BOTTOM RIGHT IS TORN OFF. THE PAINTING WHICH IS REPORDUCED ON THIS CALENDAR IS "MENDING THE NET" BY THE REPUTED PORTUGUESE ARTIST: JOAO REIS, WHICH WAS AWARDED THE SILVER MEDAL AT THE PARIS EXHIBITION IN 1937.

1957 CORK CALENDAR HAS ONLY JANUARY, FEBRUARY, MARCH CALENDAR PAGES AND THESE ARE MOSTLY TORN AWAY FROM CORK CALENDAR. THE CALENDAR HAS TEARS IN UPPER RIGHT CORNER, BOTTOM LEFT CORNER, AND MIDDLE WHERE CALENDAR PAGES ARE TEARING AWAY. MEASUREMENTS ARE: 14 1/2" WIDE X 11 1/4" TALL WITH CALENDAR PAGES EXTENDING 5 1/4" BELOW BOTTOM OF CALENDAR. THE PAINTING REPRODUCED ON THIS CALENDAR IS A LITHOGRAPH OF PORTUGAL IMPRESSORES, LISBON AND IS OF THE TYPICAL PORTUGUESE BARGES USED AS LIGHTERS TO TRANSPORT CORK FROM THE FACTORIES TO THE VESSELS THAT CARRY IT TO COUNTRIES ALL OVER THE WORLD.
