MYOB AccountEdge v9 Release

MYOB AccountEdge v9 and MYOB AccountEdge Network Edition v9 will be available in October.  New features include:

Initiate tasks from the Card File

  • Users can now launch a task from a Card File. A new Card Actions button located on the Card File allows users to create sales invoices, receive payments, create letters, print/email statements, and many more tasks.

Google Maps integration

  • The user can now launch Google Maps from the Card Action button located on the Card File. One click on the “View in Google Maps option” from the Card Action button and it will seamlessly open to Google Maps in your web browser and display the relevant location on a map and provide directions (if required).

Open the last company file accessed (AccountEdge Network Edition only)

  • AccountEdge now remembers the location of the last company file accessed by the user. This capability provides the user with fast and easy access to the most recently used company file.

Managing Inventory across multiple locations (AccountEdge only)

  • Users can now create locations for their inventory e.g. different warehouses, different shelf locations within a warehouse, etc. At any point in time, the user can view an accurate count of items at each location. Items received at each location, items sold at each location, and items transferred between locations can be accurately captured by the user.

Additional features of the MYOB AccountEdge and MYOB AccountEdge Network Edition releases are:

  • Increased Forms Customisation. Overall improved ‘look and feel’ as a result of Forms Customisation window being updated with easier to use tools for adding and editing fields
  • Zip file backup. Until now compressing backup files was only available via Stuffit file format. While backups made in Stuffit will still be usable, customers can backup with the Zip file format
  • New look Open window. Customers can now use keyboard shortcuts to open MYOB files
  • Sale of inventory despite insufficient stock being on hand. This allows the customer to record sales of an item despite not having sufficient stock on hand. Adjustments are automatically made to the accounting journals when the items are next received into stock.

 

Buyer Protection started - As of 12th May, 2009, any purchase using payroll (Accounting Plus, Premier and Account Edge) will automatically be sent out a compliance update in late June early July so they comply with next years tax tables.
