Murder Casebook 15 Magazine - Crimes of Sadism - Neville Heath, Peter Kurten, 'Black Dahlia' - they murdered for pleasure.

This auction is for an original issue of the Murder Casebook series of rare magazines.

This auction is for Issue number 15.

It features –

Crimes of Sadism.

Neville Heath - suave and sinister.  In June 1946 the pubs and clubs of London were crowded with servicemen enjoying the good life after 6 years of war.  Petty theft and the Black Market thrived, but a much more sinister crime would soon send shockwaves through the nation.

Peter Kurten - dapper and deadly.  Dusseldorf in the late 1920s was a city of fear.  In a dreadful catalogue of murders, men, women and children had all fallen victim to a sadistic killer.  The murderer was a man who had learnt torture as a child.

The crazed 'Black Dahlia Avenger' - who may still be at large.  In Los Angeles, in 1947, the discovery of the savagely mutilated body of a young woman sparked a massive police investigation.  The press followed revelations avidly, but the killer's identity remained elusive.

All found pleasure in the frenzied infliction of pain, to the point of death.

The consultants who worked on the series are –

David Jessel – the magazine’s media and planning consultant.  He was the presenter and writer of BBC TV’s Rough Justice and Taking Liberties.  His other credits include the United Nations Media Peace Prize, and TV’s Out of Court.

Dr Susan Blake MB, ChB, MRC Psych, and she was the adviser on the psychological profile of the criminal mind.  She was an associate member of the British Association of Psychotherapists and a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

Colin Wilson – he was the series adviser on the psychology of the criminal mind.  A respected and best selling author on many subjects, including crime and the occult, he was the author of ‘The Encyclopaedia of Murder’ and ‘An Encyclopaedia of Modern Murder’.

James Morton MA LLB, and he was a solicitor.  Crown prosecutor and editor of the New Law Journal.  He was the series consultant on the legal aspects of each crime.  He was a regular contributor to The Independent, Police Review, and Counsel.

Bill Waddell – he was the curator of the Black Museum, located in New Scotland Yard.  He was the series adviser on crime and police procedures where his knowledge of the criminal mind and in post-crime analysis gave a new insight into each murder.

The original series were issued in c1990 by Marshall Cavendish.

In Excellent condition.

Thanks for looking.
