Neville Heath - suave and sinister. In June 1946 the pubs and clubs of London were crowded with servicemen enjoying the good life after 6 years of war. Petty theft and the Black Market thrived, but a much more sinister crime would soon send shockwaves through the nation.
Peter Kurten - dapper and deadly. Dusseldorf in the late 1920s was a city of fear. In a dreadful catalogue of murders, men, women and children had all fallen victim to a sadistic killer. The murderer was a man who had learnt torture as a child.
The crazed 'Black Dahlia Avenger' - who may still be at large. In Los Angeles, in 1947, the discovery of the savagely mutilated body of a young woman sparked a massive police investigation. The press followed revelations avidly, but the killer's identity remained elusive.
All found pleasure in the frenzied infliction of pain, to the point of death.
