Maiko Geiko Tsuge Bin-Gushi Professional Styling Comb - EXACT TYPE USED FOR NIHONGAMI HARSTYLES & WIGS...

This natural wooden 'Bingushi' is made of real 'Tsuge' wood saturated with 'TSUBAKI' or Camellia Oil. This is a professional styling comb of fine quality and is essential for styling wigs or creating all traditional Japanese hairstyles. It measures 7½" (19 cm) long and is 2½ (6 cm) wide. The long, pointed handle is used to separate sections of the hair and the comb itself to straighten and flatten out the sides (bin) of the hair. This is a real one made for use by the hairdressors for the Geiko of Gion. It came from a shop called KINTAKEDO which is located in the heart of Kyoto's Hanamachi District that has a long history of supplying Kanzashi and Tsuge Combs to the Maiko and Geiko of Gion Kobu. It is printed on one side with the name of this famous shop. NOTE THAT WE SOMETIMES RUN OUT OF THESE AND IT HAS BEEN KNOWN TO TAKE A LONG TIME TO GET THEM IN AGAIN - SO PLEASE BE PATIENT!

MADE IN JAPAN. Tsubaki oil is a traditional beauty product in Japan and it is what the Geiko and Maiko of Gion have used in their hair for hundreds of years. Tsubaki Oil is rich in minerals and nutrients and a has a cleansing and disinfecting quality. It has a wonderful, mild, subtle fragrance. It can be purchased separately from our store.

IMPORTANT SHIPPING NOTE: Most items include TWO shipping rates: 1) EMS is the higher option and is fully insured, includes a tracking number and the transit time is much faster - delivery is within 7 days of shipping in most cases. If you are not home, they usually leave an 'Attempted Delivery' note but will return it to us as 'unclaimed' if you do not contact them within about a week. 2) STANDARD AIRMAIL is the lower one is and is fine for most inexpensive items to countries with TRUSTWORTHY postal systems but as it does NOT include TRACKING, we have NO WAY of locating the item's whereabouts or of influencing the post office to deliver it once it leaves Japan. The usual delivery time is about 10 days to 2 weeks but it has been known to take up to 6 weeks - especially to Spain. Selecting this option means that you understand that it's safe, speedy delivery is at YOUR risk. We recommend EMS! We ship in large batches and pick-up is arranged with the Post Office about twice a week. Your item goes in the first shipment after it is in stock, packed and ready to go.
