Hei Matau (Fish Hook)
This Maori Design is known as the Hei-Matau and is the fish hook. It symbolizes prosperity. Much of Maori traditional food is fish. The fish were so plentiful to the Maori that the simple ownership of a fish hook meant prosperity. Today it also represents strength, determination and good health. It provides safe journey over water.

The Koru (Spiral) depicts new beginnings, growth and harmony. The Maori Koru design is inspired by the fern frond unfurling as it grows. It represents peace, tranquility, personal growth, positive change and awakening. It is associated with new life and harmony, so makes a wonderful gift for a new parent or child, newlyweds, or anyone starting on a new phase of their life.
The Koru is also often given as gifts between great friends as a symbol of the renewal of a great friendship.

The Amulet comes on an adjustable cotton string and fits all neck sizes.
