CHOPPER ART

Chopper's doctor has told his that he has sclerosis of the liver and if he continues to drink he has two years tops to live. Chopper has cut his drinking down to be a healthy level. It is also interesting to note what Adam Cullen the year 2000 Archibald prize winner said of Chopper Read - that his art will be worth between five to twenty thousand dollars each after his death - depending on size.

According to Chopper, Adam Cullen (winner of the Archibald Prize 2000) says that when Chopper dies, his paintings will be worth anything from $10,000 to $20,000 each!

He also told us that he sold a painting to a women at Tristan's Art Gallery in perth for $1500. By the time she got to the boot of her car she had sold it for $3000.

About Chopper Read:

Chopper Read, real name Mark Brandon Read (born November 17, 1954), is a former Australian criminal and author. Convicted of many crimes including armed robbery, firearm offences, assault and kidnapping, Read spent a mere 13 months outside prison between the ages of 20 and 38, then went on to become a successful author of crime novels, selling in excess of 500,000 copies of his works. More recently, he has also found success as an artist.
