Bonded Double Faced Edges To Resist Shrinkage

The sides of the original Mazda & Prestige Top are double skinned. (See above picture). This is achieved by bonding a second layer of material around the insides of the top.

This arrangement not only provides an effective tight seal against the folding frame but the double layer also provides superior resistance to damage and shrinkage.

Some after market tops for Mk.1 MX5/Eunos that we have seen do not have the bonded re-enforcement on the top. (See above picture).

This is a far quicker and easier construction method that is not original for the Mk.1 MX5/Eunos top and could result in shrinkage and/or damage to the top.

Improved Design MX5/Eunos Top

One Piece 'Seamless' Roof Section

The tops feature a seamless roof section based on the Mk3 MX5 top.

Eliminating seams in the roof section provides an improved appearance and fit and also provides long term durability.

Addition Of Rain Gutters

Rain gutters above the side windows have been incorporated into the tops as per the Mk3 MX5 top design.

Eliminating the necessity to cut and sew the roof in 3 sections brings tremendous benefits in terms of improved fit and appearance, not to mention the long term durability benefits that a seamless roof provides.

The top can be easily fitted by the average enthusiast in about 2-3 hours using normal tools. It is simply attached to the existing frame and all the mounting holes are pre-cut to factory specifications for simple DIY installation.
