Presented here for consideration is a divine McHugh Vase glazed in what is one of the McHugh signature glazes. The base glaze is a gloss green with amber flairs. It is signed and dated to the base “H McHugh, Tasmania, 8, 1933”. McHugh art pottery of this style was only in production from 1932 until 1936. The “8” is the shape number.

Dimensions

It has a diameter of 7.5 cm (3”) at its broadest and it stands 12.5 cm (5”) tall.

Condition

It is in EXCELLENT condition with No chips, cracks, stains or repairs. As is most often the case with production of this style and vintage it does exhibit crazing – nothing hideous - but enough to impart a delightful antique patina.
