Telescope Control: Use a personal computer to directly control a Meade AutoStar telescope through the use of an astronomical software program with telescope control capabilities, such as Winstars, TheSky, or Starry Night Pro.
Download from a PC: Download a new version of the AutoStar software or updated object information from the Meade web site to your AutoStar with Meade's easy-to-use AutoStar Update (ASU) program.

This cable can not be used as a replacement for the Meade #506 cable, which is required for use with the #494 Autostar. Note that some telescopes listed (such as the ETX-60 & EXT-70) do not come with a #495 or #497 Autostar as standard equipment, but will work with the #495/#497 AutoStar. Please verify that you have a #495, #497, or LX-90 AutoStar before ordering. If your AutoStar does not have numeric keys, it is not compatible with this cable. If you're not sure, email me first to verify compatibility with your Autostar.
