Meade Plössl eyepieces offer premium-quality, multi-coated optics and a 4-element design that provides a wide 52° apparent field of view. For use with all telescopes configured with 1.25" eyepieces. Not only are they a great addition to any eyepiece collection, they are recommended for telescopes supplied with Super Plössl eyepieces as standard equipment. These Meade Plössl eyepieces virtually share the same parfocal design as other Meade Super Plossl eyepieces. The advantage being another focal length eyepiece can be dropped into the eyepiece-holder and the image being viewed remains sharp without the need for gross refocusing. Identical to the Meade 4000 series Eyepieces with the only exception being the text around the barrel. Geat set for the beginner to advanced astronomer!

Why should I chose a Plössl Eyepiece?

By far the Plössl eyepiece is currently the most widely used design. The name Plössl eyepiece covers a range of eyepieces with at least four optical elements. Usually consisting of two sets of doublets (a doublet lens a convex and concave element sandwiched together). The compound Plössl lens provides a large apparent field of view along with relatively large FOV. This makes this lens ideal for a variety of observational purposes including deep sky and planetary viewing.
