Melaleuca Ulladulla Beacon: is a member of the Myrtaceae family and is a dwarf form of the normally upright Melaleuca hypericifolia.
“Ulladulla Beacon” is a low, spreading plant that reaches a height of 50 centimetres with a spread of 1.5 metres. Its lance-like leaves are light green and about four centimetres long.

 

 In spring and summer pants produces many large rusty-red bottlebrush-shaped flowers.
“Ulladulla Beacon” comes from the South Coast of New South Wales where it grows on exposed headlands.
This ground covering Melaleuca has two advantages over the upright form of Melaleuca hypericifolia. Firstly, the flowers are hidden amongst the foliage of the upright form. “Ulladulla Beacon” displays its blooms on the ends of branches. Melaleuca Ulladulla Beacon, especially when regularly pruned, forms a dense, upright ground cover that is covered with flowers for long periods.
Growth habit, foliage and flowers are all attractive features. 

They are drought hardy and show moderate frost resistance.  and are a wonderful bird attraction.

prefers a sunny or part shaded position in well-drained soil  They will tolerate  most soil types. Protect from heavy frosts

is an excellent plant for use as a landscape plant. They are excellent in rockeries, small gardens and courtyards.
