Authentic M.C.G Timber

It was in 1967 that the Ponsford Stand first opened its doors to sports fans everywhere. Over the next 35 years the stand bore witness to some of the greatest sporting events in history, and all were held right there at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Now, as you well know, Ponsford Stand is no longer with us. It was demolished in 2002 to make room for what some would call bigger and better things. But no matter what claims that ground now, history cannot be repeated. By salvaging as much timber as possible we hope to hold on to the history and events that shaped the life of Ponsford Stand and keep it from being lost to generations to come.

Limited Edition

When we say Limited Edition this is one term that we just cannot stress enough. As Ponsford Stand was demolished most of the wood that held it together was badly damaged. As such there was only a very small amount that could be salvaged for this project. When our dwindling supply is gone there is simply no way for use to replenish it. This is why we urge you to act now to ensure that you can get your hands on one of these historic treasures.

Individually Hand Crafted

These pens are each hand crafted to meet only the highest standards. Our craftsmen start with a carefully selected piece of MCG timber and then, slowly and with great care, shape it using the “Mont Blanc” style of chisels and sandpaper. When they are finished you have much more than just a pen. You have a one of a kind work of art that has been aged in Australian sporting history. But anyone can make a pen, even a very nice pen, that’s not the issue here. No in this case you are being given the chance to combined one of the executive’s greatest tool with a sports fans greatest treasure, your very own piece of the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
