This is a Melville E. Ingalls (1842–1914) Cabinet Card which came outof a Pach Brothers Photography estate. Ingalls was a Massachusettsstate legislator who went on to become the president of theIndianapolis, Cincinnati and Lafayette Railroad. The railroad becamepart of the Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago and St. Louis Railroad (theBig Four Railroad), and Ingalls served as president of that railroadas well. The town of Ingalls, Indiana was named in his honor.
