Milk Kefir Grains - PROBIOTICS - 1 Table Spoon

Item on offer is 1 table spoon of Milk Kefir Grains.

These kefir grains are the "seeds" to produce the fermented milk drink, kefir. All you need to do is put the kefir grains in some milk, loosely cover the container and leave it at room temperature, and wait for 12-24 hours. The grains will then need to be separated from the liquid and put back in some more fresh milk to start another 12-24 hours cycle.

My original kefir grains have been very healthy and they grew and multiplied, and so I am offering my surplus grains. They have been cultured in organic cow's milk and once settled down in the new environment, they should ferment at least 2 cups of kefir in each 12-24 hour period. If you keep them healthy by feeding them milk (and feeding yourself the resulting kefir), they should grow to double the original size within a month or so.

All the information about kefir-making you would ever want (and more) can be found at Dom's Kefir-making in-site and I recommend you have a read through his informative site first, but if you have questions I will be happy to answer by email. Item will come with instructions on how to care for your kefir grains.

With the kefir that your new kefir grains will produce, you can make:

smoothies (with frozen berries, bananas, or other fruits)
icy poles (by freezing the smoothies or just the plain kefir)
kefir cream cheese (by filtering out the whey)
sourdough bread (using kefir as sourdough starter)

just to name a few. Sky is the limit as to what you can do with your kefir. It tastes so nice, and it is very good for you with all the probiotic Lactobacilli and the good yeasts that are in this fermented milk drink.
