Mini-Circuits MAV-11SM High Output +17dBm MMICs (Qty.2)

On offer are 2 new old stock MAV-11SM MMICs by RF specialist Mini-Circuits.

As well as ~12dB gain. these lovely parts have the highest power out (1dB compression at +17.5dBm) and IP3 (+30dBm) figures of any of the MAR or MAV families, yet with one of the lowest noise figures (3.6dB).

Although specified from 50MHz to 1000MHz, these are not hard limits (see performance graphs). Gain tapers off at the high end but is still a useful ~5dB at 3GHz. At the low end the response is largely determined by the coupling capacitors used ... for instance the famous NJ QRP DDS daughterboard at http://www.njqrp.org/dds/ successfully used a MAV-11 as an output buffer and the DDS only operated below 50MHz output.

Great for driving high LO drive mixers like the SBL-1H, their characteristics make them a popular choice in ham projects, for example:

• A wide band pre amp for SWL and Scanner use
• ON4KHG homemade 28-144 MHz Transverter

Jab stocks these at £3.65 each, and from BH in Holland they're €4.49 each, but in either case you're looking at a fair bit of postage cost on top. MCL list price (qty 1..30) is $2.25 but again shipping costs are high. A couple here starting at a fair price with low-cost P&P WW ...

RFPlus is now well settled in to his cosy nook down here in Cornwall - and with the Postal Strike averted (Ya-hay!!!) it's time to start on some new listings. I've discovered several boxes from previous projects, most parts now being surplus to my needs, and with the ever present need for cashflow it's time to liberate them here on Ebay.
