Just 2 1/2" in length and 1 1/2" wide (approx.) this is a very unusual and RARE item (Judy Politzer wanted this for her collection). It is a little brass ironing shoe and is engraved with 2 sets of initials. Definately Victorian. I have tried it with a little sad iron and when you slide the iron into the shoe it has to go over a lump in the metal and this stops the iron from coming out of the shoe whilst in use unless you lifted the iron up! Completely hand made - the heel at the back has become apart from the base - does not move or come loose but you can see where the weld has become unfinished. Beacuse I have never seen it in a book or in another collection I am selling it AS IS and how I have described it. It is a beautiful small item! Payment PAYPAL or £ cheque UK |
