Minicircuits MAR-7SM RF MMIC Amp DC..2GHz+ 13dB (Qty.5)

On offer are 5 new (old stock) pieces of the Mini-Circuits brand Monolithic Microwave IC (MMIC), type MAR-7SM, on cut factory tape.

  • Wide frequency range: DC-2GHz+
  • Useful 11..13dB gain, unconditionally stable
  • Standard 50 Ohm impedance
  • Simple to use: standard MMIC package fits many experimenter boards (or a scrap of fibreglass PCB).

With a spec'd frequency range of DC-2GHz and useful gain to 4GHz, these are ideal for a broad range of RF/IF applications, from HF through VHF and up past UHF into the microwaves. At the low end, response is limited by the value of dc blocking capacitor used.

Good for interstage buffering of RF signals, following VCOs and around filters/mixers where they can compensate for attenuators and themselves contribute to isolation.

Although these have 4 leads, two are ground connections. Power is supplied via the RF output lead, isolated by an inductor. The resistor which determines the device current will depend on supply voltage, and a table of suitable values is given in the datasheet.

A typical application as a buffer is illustrated by the 1.296GHz project by Jean-François Fourcadier, F4DAY (see http://perso.orange.fr/jf.fourcadier/hyperfrequences/synthe/synthe.htm and http://perso.orange.fr/jf.fourcadier/hyperfrequences/mixer/mixer.htm).

Enough to experiment with starting at a price that won't break the bank...

About RFPlus

RFPlus is now well settled in to his cosy nook down here in Cornwall - and with the Postal Strike averted (Ya-hay!!!) it's time to start on some new listings. I've discovered several boxes from previous projects, most parts now being surplus to my needs, and with the ever present need for cashflow it's time to liberate them here on Ebay. Listing always takes me a fair bit of time (so they'll appear slowly over the coming weeks) but if you've an interest in RF items, particularly Microwave frequency parts, then please check back because there are some real goodies coming up.

In the meanwhile, I'll relist some items of which I still have a few and hope you'll find them interesting!

For other info, visit my the 'About Me' page. If you're thinking of bidding/buying I'd ask that you visit that page at least once so you can read the 'Terms & Conditions' and a bit more about RFPlus.
